Yay It Works!!!

Finally after just over a year of development (first commit to CVS was on 12 June 2002) we have just released version 1.2.2 of the Optimiser Digital Asset Management (ODAM for short) System. Version 1.2.2 is the first system we could seriously call stable and usable. Now we can take a break. Okay break over :) .

Seriously we have one customer in production, another evaluating with a view to go production within days, and several others looking to implement within the next 2 to 3 months. Things are looking good for the company and thus my job and financial situation, so spanky wont be shutting down just yet. Tho it is getting harder to justify the 10% of my after tax monthly incoming it costs to keep the server going, and as such I am considering requesting donations to help keep the server going. I dont know, we’ll see.

In other matters I’ve just upgraded my work system to Gimp 1.3.15 (farking awesome), OpenOffice.org 1.1beta2 (DocBook XML Support), Gnumeric 1.1.19 (or something like that I dont pay much attension to it, it just works) and Abiword 1.99.1. All very nice except for abiword that crashes out on startup everytime, prob need to recompile that one.

Also put in the gss-sources kernel, damn its nice. Standard kernel with preempt and all that jazz, xfs, cryptoapi and win4lin support. Very very nice, noticably snappier.

Also just got the mozilla-firebird ebuild completed from portage, hooray for custom built software, its fast :)

I think I’ll shut up now.

Edit: Oh and yes it is pronouced oh-damn. Well at least in the office it is :)
